Welcome to Diamond in the Desert Baseball

First ever “Battle in the Red Rocks” youth baseball tournament

Diamond in the Desert Baseball, along with the City of Sedona, is proud to announce that we’re hosting a youth baseball tournament in the beautiful Red Rocks in September on the 16th and 17th.

Because we only have two fields available for play the event will be small, just eight teams total. We’re looking for interested clubs in the 11 or 12-year-old age divisions. We have decided to partner with NBC (National Baseball Congress) a sanctioning organization in the Midwest. This event in Sedona, is now a Hap Dumont Qualifier, the top four teams will qualify to participate in the Hap Dumont national tournament. There is no extra cost to the teams. The first eight teams that show an interest will get to play. You’ll get at least three games and the entry fee will be $350.

The format will be as follows. We’ll have two pools of four teams each. Each team will play everybody in your pool (three games). The top two clubs from each pool will then participate in single elimination bracket play. Some teams will play four games and two squads will play five games.

If you’re interested contact the tournament director, Brian Nicklin @ 623-979-5216 or at b_nicklin@cox.net OR the site director, C.J. Sells @ 928-300-1349 or at cjsells@commspeed.net
